Flying with Your Little Explorer
While SlumbaPak meets key safety and practicality standards for portable comfort aids, final use onboard is always at the discretion of the cabin crew. We recommend checking with your airline in advance where possible.
What to Say to Cabin Crew
You can use these simple points:
- “This is a personal comfort aid (like a travel pillow or blanket), not a child restraint or inflatable device.”
- “It has no attachments to the seat or aircraft and is secured only by the aircraft seatbelt.”
- “It has dedicated seatbelt slots so the plane’s lap belt remains fully secure over my child.”
- “It’s non-inflatable, doesn’t block aisles or emergency access, and is made from certified non-flammable materials.”
- “We only use it after the seatbelt sign is switched off, and pack it away completely for taxi, take-off and landing.”
Important Usage Rules
- Set up only after the seatbelt sign is switched off
- Pack away completely during taxi, take-off, landing, and any time the seatbelt sign is on
- Child’s head must face the back of their own seat
- Must not interfere with other passengers
- Must not attach to any part of the aircraft
Extra Tips for a Smoother Experience
- Window or middle seats usually work best
- Introduce the Little Explorer at home first so your child is familiar with it
- Keep the product information card handy to show crew if needed
