About Us
Hi, I’m Melissa Angus, a Brisbane mum of two who’s spent the last few years figuring out how to make long flights with little kids actually enjoyable (instead of exhausting!).
I’ve taken my children to over 60 countries, and I know exactly what it feels like when legs dangle, seats feel grubby, and everyone’s tired and cranky by hour three. One of my children found flights especially hard due to sensory overload - the noise, the lights, the lack of a defined space. That personal experience is what really pushed me to create something better.
That’s why I started SlumbaPak in 2024. I teamed up with award-winning industrial designer Dr. Tristan Schultz, listened to occupational therapists and ergonomists, and together we created the Little Explorer and Adventurer - patent pending, lightweight accessories that turn a regular plane seat into a cosy, clean little haven for kids (and grown-ups too). Everything is made with care in our ethical factory in Vietnam, and we’re so proud that the 2025 TGA People’s Choice Award at the Travel Goods Association Show in Las Vegas recognised how much parents love them.
Outside of SlumbaPak, I’ve always been a bit of a juggler. In my 20s I built an international translation business in the UK, then as a single mum I balanced raising my kids while going back to uni in my 40s to finish a law degree and pursue a Master’s in International Commercial Law. All of that experience now helps me run SpumbaPak - from the first sketches, through prototypes and trade shows, to building partnerships so more families can discover these products.
At the heart of it all, I just want travel to feel a little easier and a lot more joyful for families like ours - especially those whose children find the sensory side of flying overwhelming. If you’re packing for your next adventure (or dreading the next long flight), I’d love for you to try SlumbaPak and see what a difference it makes.
Safe travels and big hugs to you and your little explorers,
Melissa

Our Mission
To make long journeys with young children more comfortable, calm and manageable for the whole family.
The journey should be just as enjoyable as the destination.
What Sets SlumbaPak Apart
Simple, Secure Comfort
No inflation. No seat attachments. Secured only by the aircraft seatbelt — and easy to pack away when the seatbelt sign is on.
Designed as a Comfort Aid
Classified as a personal comfort aid by aviation authorities. No inflation, no seat attachments, and secured only by the aircraft seatbelt.
Cleaner Comfort
Made with premium, easy-clean fabrics that create a cleaner barrier between your child and the aircraft seat — a practical benefit many parents appreciate on long flights.
Lightweight Design
Weighing just 1.8 kg (≈ 4.0 lbs), SpumbaPak is lightweight and packs into a compact backpack that children can carry themselves.
Our Products
As aircraft seats have become thinner and space tighter, long flights with young children have become harder. SlumbaPak was created to bring back a sense of comfort and calm — with practical, thoughtfully designed accessories that help families travel more easily.
Our range is built around two core products:
- Little Explorer (ages 2–7) — our award-winning personal comfort aid that turns a standard economy seat into a more supportive, defined space for young children
- Adventurer — designed for broader use across ages
Both are made with soft, easy-clean, anti-bacterial fabrics and breathable mesh. They are lightweight, pack down small, and are designed for real airline cabin use: no inflation, no seat attachments, and secured only by the aircraft seatbelt.
Alongside these, we offer complementary travel accessories — including blankets and tray table covers — to help make the journey cleaner and more comfortable for the whole family.
